Ground Preparation

To help you prepare for the laying of your concrete edging, garden edging or concrete curbing, please follow the guides below.

For all preparation, there are three important points to remember:

  1. Hills Kerbs needs a level compacted surface.
  2. The kerb will follow the contour, slope and level of the ground that is prepared.
  3. Hills Kerbs always works from right to left when standing on the lawn or driveway and facing the kerb.

Please see below for instructions specific to your installation.

1When laying kerbs on a pebble,
asphalt or concrete driveway,
starter bars need to be secured
75mm from back of kerb.

2Starter bars placed in concrete should be no higher than 50mm and no further than 300mm apart. The ideal starter bar is galvanised wire 12 bar.
